Many games often say they are MetroidVania-esque, but when you play them, something is often off. The controls, size of the character, fluidity of the animations, how the game flows from level to level, area to area. And often you find a diminished experience to a high expectation when you first buy the game.
This is no so with Dust. The longer-ish animation do make me wonder if its worth it to invest my time in this game? What if its terrible? None of my concerns were valid.
The graphics are toons hence kid-accessible, controls are fluid, allows you to mash magic and attacks at the same time (2 characters), and in true Metroidvania fashion, youll discover more abilities granting you access to more places. Discovering better equipment with crafting also adds to my gaming satisfaction.
The story is also surprisingly interesting and you feel for th character as it unfolds.
Very good game, must buy!
